Willie Merle Hall, 71, of Payson, Utah died Sunday, May 25, 2003 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo.

She was born December 30, 1931 in Colmesneil, Texas, the daughter of Clarence Timothy Crosby and Mary Frances McKee. She married Maxie Earl Cowart on July 15, 1952 in Beaumont, Texas, who passed away September 14, 1962. Willie then married Marlin Hall on June 3, 1976 in the Provo LDS Temple. He died July 22, 1994. She graduated from Colmesneil High School.

Her first job was a telephone operator in Beaumont, Texas. She has been a proud mother and a loving wife most of her life.

She loved to cook for people, especially sweets. She enjoyed traveling, crafts, canning, camping, fishing, and anything that involved family. She was a true fan of the Utah Jazz. She had the opportunity to be a nanny for the Corless family of Lake Shore and loved every minute of it. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life. She held many positions in the Relief Society, Primary and was also a temple worker. She always had a bubbly personality that was favorable to anyone she met.

Survivors include children: Marvin (Gwen) Cowart, Jasper, Texas; Debra (Ed) Muir, Payson, Utah; and Gary (Jackie) Cowart, Cedar City, Utah; stepchildren include: Betty Gleason, Marlin Hall, Jr., Nina Curtis, Linda Ore, Jim Hall, Yvonne Cox, Calvin Hall, David Hall, Anthony Hall; nine grandchildren, many step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many step-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by three sisters: Demple Benton, Lufkin, Texas; Lorraine Loggins and Betty Pixley, both of Woodville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents and niece, Janice Shaw; and step-grandson, Anthony Ore.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 29, 2003 in the Mountain View 6th Ward Chapel, 1128 East 100 South, Payson, at 1 p.m.

Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Walker Mortuary, 187 South Main, Spanish Fork, and from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. until time of service at the Mountain View 6th Ward Church in Payson. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
