1924 ~ 2003
Erma Lorraine Probert, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed quickly and peacefully on May 27, 2003. She died of complications due to heart failure.
She was born in North Logan, Utah, on September 20, 1924 to Willard L. and Anna Margaret Bench Larsen.
Erma married Eldon James Probert in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 30, 1956 with their marriage later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple on June 8, 1963. Erma was the fifth child of seven children born to the Larsen family.
At age nineteen, Erma moved with her family to Burbank, CA. They later bought a ranch outside of Lancaster, CA where she lived until 1988. She then moved with her husband, Eldon, to be close to wherever her son and his family were; first, Rexburg, Idaho and then Orem, Utah. She loved to tell stories of her delightful childhood, praising her hard-working parents and fun-loving brothers and sister. Erma spent many summers thinning sugar beets and playing softball. Erma always had a steadfast devotion to caring for others. She spent her life caring for her parents and then her husband's parents in their older years. Family was her most favorite hobby. She was fondly referred to as "aunt sweetie" by her nieces and nephews. Erma's pride and joy was her only son, Dudley. She was a wonderful mother and devoted wife. She was her grandchildren's playmate and friend. She will be missed, but we feel fortunate that she could be reunited so shortly with her sweetheart, Eldon, who recently passed away last November.
Erma is survived by her only son, Dudley (Ann) of Orem, Utah; five grandchildren, Dudley Jr., Ashleigh Ann, Mark James, Scott Thomas and Bryan Christian. She has one living brother, Willard B. Larsen of Lancaster, California.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to Dr. Kent Marshall and the staff at Timpanogos Hospital for their kind and competent care.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
