NEPHI<! > - Arlin C. Stephensen, age 87, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away May 25, 2003 in Payson, Utah.

He was born December 11, 1915 in Levan, Utah to Martin C. and Christina Johanna Christensen Stephensen. He married Nellie Sorensen September 8, 1937 in Nephi, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple September 19, 1941.

He attended school in Levan and Nephi. He was member of the LDS church. He and his wife, Nellie, served as dance directors for many years for the Golden Green Balls for the Levan Ward. He loved horses and was a member of the Silver Sage Riding Club in Levan. He especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in livestock shows and taking them to livestock auctions and the Ute Stampede Rodeo. He retired from Thermoid Rubber Products after 25 years.

He is survived by his wife Nellie of Nephi; children, Arlene (Seth) McPherson of Nephi; Shirley (John) Bench of Sandy; LaRue Lynn of Mona; Donna (Gaylen) Jarrett of Nephi; Jim A. (Nellie A.) Stephensen of Nephi; Nan (Daniel) Taylor of Genola; daughter-in-law, Lucinda (Rick) Kay of Mona; brother, Meril (Myrtis) Stephensen of Levan; 29 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a son, Lynn C. Stephensen; brother, Levern Stephensen; sister, Effie Anderson; son-in-laws, Kirk E. Lynn and David B. Lunt; great-great-granddaughter, MaKayla McPherson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2003 in the Nephi Stake Center, 251 N. 100 W. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N. and at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Vine Bluff Cemetery.
