I understand the American rulers of Iraq have ordered the people to surrender their military-style weapons. The American Constitution clearly states, "The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." Have we somehow decided that the human beings living in Iraq are not people? Have we somehow decided that the American government is not subject to the American Constitution when ruling Iraq?

How can we build trust and democracy in Iraq with this kind of military dictatorship?

How can we be their liberators while we oppress them and violate rights that even Saddam respected?
