Richard Ewing Davis could use a reality check when it comes to deadly force situations (Readers' Forum, May 18). Instead of being a Monday morning quarterback and second-guessing the police, he should make himself available to handle those deadly force situations where life and death must be decided in a split second. The police could back off or run away, then give Mr. Davis a phone call. I can see him arriving in a blaze of light with his garden hose and lawn rake in hand, and maybe a garbage can lid for a shield.
