Danny Ulibarri, who has been the Salt Lake County Metro Gang Unit's Public Enemy No. 1 for almost three weeks, surrendered without incident to detectives Wednesday afternoon.

Detectives received information Wednesday morning that Ulibarri was staying at a house in northwest Salt Lake City. They surrounded the house and Ulibarri let detectives arrest him as he exited the front door about 3 p.m., metro gang Sgt. Bill Robertson said.

Ulibarri, 31, was taken to the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Office, where detectives will question him about a recent drug trafficking case and other alleged crimes that authorities do not want to elaborate on, Robertson said.

Ulibarri, a longtime gang member, had a no-bail arrest warrant in connection to walking away from a halfway house before his sentence there was completed. His criminal history includes aggravated assault and possession of drugs with intent to distribute, Robertson said.
