I've been getting my news from the Internet for several years now. I can honestly say I never read anything by Vigh or Cantera, never indulged in the reporting of Pulitzer-prize-tarnishing Rick Bragg nor fell for the byline "Jayson Blair."

The news I get through Web pages, e-mail and other multimedia on the Internet is more ethical than the Times or Tribune, it seems. At least one knows to take information gleaned from the Internet with a grain of salt; whereas newspapers purport to be purveyors of "the truth and nothing but the truth." The apparent lack of copy editors, fact checkers and other systemic problems plaguing our newspapers makes me cry. How appropriate that the convention on ethics in journalism was only a few weeks ago. I can only hope that the News publishes more responsibly than these examples.
