Question: What's the difference between the Federal Communications Commission and the old Soviet Politburo? Answer: The FCC is Tweedle Dum.

There won't be a difference in theory if the FCC ends the ban on single ownership of newspapers, TV and radio stations in the same city — giving the community a variety of identical positions from which to choose.

Take Rupert Murdoch, please. He already controls eight cable networks, 34 local TV stations and Fox News. Which means he also controls the thoughts of the Republican audience.

The FCC has returned the favor, allowing Murdoch to expand his media empire. Even if Murdoch were not Australian, it would behoove the FCC to tie this kangaroo down.
