"Beloved Mother"
Vivian M. Peters, a choice daughter in Zion, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and cherished friend, returned to the loving arms of the Savior on Thursday, May 28, 2003.
She was born January 17, 1916 in Lehi, Utah, to John William Makin, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Woffinden. Her parents died when she was six.
Her grandparents, Walter and Mary Jane Denton Woffinden raised her until their passing. Her aunt and uncle, Clara Woffinden Rhodes and Alonzo Rhodes, and their sons, Don, Glen and Darrell, blessed her with a loving home for many years. Vivian graduated from American Fork High School. She married John H. Peters on Dec. 15, 1939. Later divorced. She was employed by BYU Food Service for 18 years, retiring in 1981.
She is survived by her four children, Carol (Bob) Weddington, Steve (Karen) Peters, MarJean Peters and Jeffrey (Carolee) Peters, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lucille Butler. Preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha and Edna.
Vivian was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, serving in many capacities including the Spanish Extraction Program. She was a member of DUP for many years. Vivian's beautiful smile, cheerful disposition and goodness endeared her to all she knew. Her caring, friendly nature made her easy to love and impossible to forget.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the kind and loving care of our mother by Dr. Nedda Hendler and her staff, South Davis Community Hospital of Bountiful nurses and aides, Hospice of Bountiful and the SDCH Branch of the LDS Church.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2003 in the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, Utah. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 11:45 to 12:45 p.m. prior to service. Interment, Lehi City Cemetery.
