LaDena Louise Whipple Turner, 60, of Lindon passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2003 at her home.
She was born April 24, 1943 in Eugene, OR to Leonard and Louise Simpson Whipple. She married Gerald Turner on October 7, 1961 in Ventura County, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Dena grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from Granite High School in 1961. She later received her C.N.A. license. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and collected Indian dolls and Coca Cola memorabilia. She and Gerald enjoyed traveling, especially to Mexico.
She worked at the Utah State Developmental Center from 1986-1992, then transferred to the Utah State Hospital where she worked in the Adult Southwest Unit as a Psychiatric Technician. While working at the State Hospital, she was recognized for saving two lives.
She received her greatest enjoyment in life from her family who survive her: husband, Gerald, of Lindon; eight children: Wendy (Charles) Wood, Lehi; Sharon Turner, Springville; Kimberly (Christopher) Hone, Pleasant Grove; Scott (Misty) Turner, Pleasant Grove; Kurt (Chris) Turner, Pleasant Grove;
Stacey (Lindsey) Turner, Lehi; Aubrey (Jeramie) Hatch, Logan; Pamela (Josh) Davis, American Fork;
and 18 grandchildren. Additional survivors include her two sisters, Geraldine (Keith) Van Alstyne and Lynda Whipple; two brothers, Leonard Whipple and Daniel Whipple.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in the Lindon West Stake Center, 250 West 600 South (1600 North, Orem) Lindon.
Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Olpin Family Mortuary, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove and at the church on Saturday from 12:45-1:45 p.m.
Interment will be in the Lehi City Cemetery.
