PROVO — Brigham Young University will host the 2003 Special Olympics Utah Summer Games June 5-7.

The games will begin at 7 p.m. June 5 with an opening ceremony at the women's softball field on the BYU campus.

More than 1,200 athletes will compete in cycling, equestrian, softball, track and field and soccer events.

Organizers also will have a motor activities program for lower-functioning athletes.
