Clarence Thomas Cardwell Jr., 61, died May 28, 2003 on Wolf Creek Pass in a motorcycle accident.
Born May 12, 1942 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Clarence Thomas and Lola May Simpson Cardwell.
Graduated from East High in 1960. Served in the US Army from 1960 to 1963. Retired from UP&L after nearly 40 years. He spent most of his time outdoors, pursuing his passions of hiking, hunting and fishing and was a long-time member of the Wasatch Mountain Club. Was able to live out his life's dream by owning and operating a farm in Hanna, Utah.
He loves his grandchildren dearly. Found peace and serenity through membership in Alcoholics Anonymous.
Survived by former wife, Lynda Cardwell; son, Joshua Thomas Scott; daughters, Camie Humphrey and son-in-law Jeff; Melinda Cardwell of San Francisco, CA.; three grandchildren; Harlee, Reno and Taylor; two great grandchildren, Coy and Shaylee; sister, Sally Martin and brother-in-law Rusty; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 2, 2003 at 12:00 noon at Tabiona Cemetery. Friends and family may call Sunday, June 1 from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Tabiona Ward Relief Society Room. Interment, Tabiona Cemetery.
