As an advocate for parents of children in the Jordan School District, I write to strongly oppose HB1350 and encourage the Senate to return the focus of the law to children and their special needs.

Following are just some of major problems with HB1350.

It would permit funds to be diverted away from special education.

Congress still doesn't fully fund IDEA.

Provisions threaten to restrict open communication between schools and families about mental health concerns.

The proposed law will make life much worse for families struggling with disabilities.
