1916~2003

Vera DeJarnette Swank, 87, our loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great-grand-mother and sister passed away May 28, 2003 at the Heritage Care Center of causes incident to age.

She was born March 31, 1916 in Logan County, Oklahoma to Leo Hodges and Jennie Mae Williams DeJarnette. She married Gerald Winchester Swank in 1934, in Crescent, Oklahoma.

She was educated in Oklahoma and Utah. She was a special education teacher for the deaf in American Fork, Utah and was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of American Fork.

Survived by children, Gerald (Judy) Swank, Seabrook, SC; Gordon Swank, Lehi; Becky (Art) Thomason, Layton; Annette (Jim) McRaven, Harlingen, TX; a sister, Leonne Tarrant, Edmond, OK; six grandchildren, eight great- grand-children, and four great-great-grand-children. Preceded in death by parents, husband, brothers, Alvin Ross and George Ross Jr., daughter-in-law, Melba Swank, and a grandson, Micheal Swank.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 31, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church, 75 North 100 East, American Fork, where family and friends may visit one hour prior to services. Services directed by Anderson & Sons Mortuary. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery.
