In the Readers' Forum on May 27, Jeff Wilbur missed my point. He argues that if Annika should be allowed to compete in the PGA tour that male players should be allowed to compete in the LPGA, which is simply insane. The PGA tour wants the very best golfers in the world, and it just so happens men are almost always better players than women.
That is why the LPGA was created, so women can have a chance to play professionally. Not since Babe Didrikson Zaharias has a woman been able to compete with the men. If you allowed men to play in the LPGA tour, they would come in and dominate it and women would have fewer opportunities to play. If a man isn't good enough for the PGA tour, he can play in the Nike Tour, Buy.com tour, Yahoo.com tour, or many others.
