Malcolm in the Middle (8 p.m., Ch. 13): Malcolm has a secret girlfriend. (Repeat)
Crime and Punishment (9 p.m., Ch. 5): This engrossing documentary series — a real-life version of "Law & Order" — returns for a second season with the case of a man accused of killing his brother-in-law and attempting to kill his estranged wife.
Six Feet Under (10 p.m., HBO): The series wraps up a disappointing third season.
The Wire (11 p.m., HBO): The second season opens with the discovery of a body in Baltimore's harbor.
Out of Order (11 p.m., Showtime): This self-indulgent, self-important and insufferable series follows the lives of two Hollywood screenwriters (Eric Stoltz and Felicity Huffman) who struggle with scripts, depression, infidelity and — more than anything else — bad writing. Yuck.
