LAGOS, Nigeria — Before her baptism, Folashade Olukanni of the Ikeja Ward, Lagos Nigeria Stake, stood in district meeting and spoke of the impact the Church had on her husband, Adesina J. Olukanni, then a new member and now an Area Authority Seventy.

"She said, 'My husband has changed,' " recalled Elder Olukanni. " 'I did not understand the Church at first; I did everything to provoke him and make him leave the Church. He just took everything and showed me tolerance and love, far more than before he joined the Church. I know the Church is true from his actions and from what I have read.' "

Elder Olukanni added, "The priesthood has blessed my family and me. I have given blessings that have provided comfort, healing, directions, peace and much more to members of my family. Indeed, holding the priesthood has helped me refine my thoughts, language, doings and ways in conformity with a character that wants to retain the companionship of the Holy Spirit at all times. The Lord has blessed and magnified us and we have become a good influence and the center of our extended family."
