Frances Bird, age 77, of Salt Lake City, UT, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 29, 2003 in Salt Lake City, UT.
Frances was born Sept 2, 1925 in Salt Lake City, UT to Olaf Wilhelm and Anna Fredriksen Feragen. Frances graduated from East High. She married her high school sweetheart Mendenhall A. "Denny" Bird. Together, they resided in Salt Lake City and were active members of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.
Frances loved her family and dogs. She was a great sketch artist, enjoyed travel, music and fine art. She was an accomplished chef contributing recipes to many cookbooks as well as owning a cookbook collection of over 600 volumes. She had a great eye for color and fashion and always made sure she and her family were well dressed.
Frances is survived by her three children, Alan Bird, (Susie), Salt Lake, Colleen Vogel, (Mark), Edmonton, Alberta, Dennis Bird, (Margo), Salt Lake; and seven grandchildren, Erika, Lisa, Andrea, Alyssa, Nicolas, Richard, Michael; and her sister, Elaine McDonald, (Gil), Salt Lake.
Preceded in death by her husband and parents.
The family would like to thank Elaine McDonald, Advantage Home Care, and the Residence for their loving assistance in caring for Frances.
Services will be Tues. June 3, 2003, 11 a.m. at the Mount Tabor Lutheran Church, 175 S. 700 E., where friends may call Tues. 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services. In lieu of flowers contributions to Mt Tabor Lutheran Church or the Humane Society of Utah are encouraged. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. Funeral Directors: The Holbrook Mortuary.
