Despite some confusion concerning the correct day of the game, the Utah Warriors pulled off another Pacific West Division victory on Friday.
Utah, 8-1, won its fifth straight game with a 79-76 victory over the Wyoming Calvary in Casper, Wyo. The game was the only Friday contest the Warriors will have all season. But due to misprinted schedules, many fans planning to attend missed the contest because they assumed the event would take place on Saturday. The team had even arranged for some fans to ride a bus to the game.
At least the Warriors made the trip.
Only a week after playing with a torn abdomen and a hip pointer, quarterback Danny Ragsdale threw for 240 yards and seven touchdowns to lead Utah.
The Warriors held a comfortable lead in the game"s final minutes, but allowed the Calvary to score with under a minute to play. However, following its score, Wyoming did not attempt the onside kick and Utah downed the ball and ran out the clock.
The Warriors will travel to Sioux Falls, S.D. to play the Storm. Utah won't return to the E Center until June 14 when it contends with the Bismarck Roughriders.
