The Utah Blitzz wrapped up a weekend road trip to California they'd rather forget.
The Blitzz lost to the Southern California Seahorses 2-1 Saturday night on the heels of a one-goal loss to Orange County Friday.
"We can't expect to come down and win these games just because they're in the PDL," said Utah coach Chris Agnello.
Both teams are a part of the Premier Development League, which is a level below the Blitzz's Pro Select League in the soccer hierarchy. One would've been fooled this weekend.
"These are some good, big, strong kids," said Agnello.
The Seahorses opened the scoring in the 35th minute as Josh Hoskins capitalized on some poor Blitzz defending. Twenty minutes into the second half, Southern California burned the Blitzz again to go up 2-0.
Utah's Alejandro Gutierrez tallied a late goal in the 86th minute, but it wasn't enough.
The Blitzz struggled again without veteran midfielders Sterling Wescott and Rich Breza, who both missed the trip because of family matters.
