The Brisbane Australia Temple, the 115th temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be dedicated by President Gordon B. Hinckley on Sunday, June 15.

The temple, made of gray granite, will be dedicated in four sessions and will open for ordinance work on Monday, June 16. It ison the Kangaroo Point Cliffs overlooking the central business district. A two-ward meetinghouse sits adjacent to the temple.

This temple was announced on July 20, 1998, as the first of the small temples to be planned in Australia. Groundbreaking took place on May 26, 2001. Open houses were held from May 10 to June 7.

There are more than 23,000 members in six stakes and four mission districts in the temple district of Queensland and northern New South Wales. This temple means church members who used to have to travel 600 miles to the Sydney, Australia Temple now have a much closer facility.
