WASHINGTON (AP) — Democratic presidential candidate Dick Gephardt has accounts and investments worth from $159,000 to $495,000, according to financial disclosure forms released Friday.

The Missouri congressman made a salary of $166,700 last year as Democratic leader and now makes $150,000 for his work in the House, aides said. Gephardt is competing for the Democratic nomination with several other members of Congress who are millionaires and often describes himself to voters as someone who understands their financial concerns.

Gephardt listed two loans on his disclosure forms — a student loan of $50,000 to $100,000 and a loan from the General American Life Insurance Co. of from $15,000 to $50,000.

Gephardt's investments and other assets are held in mutual funds, school district bonds, water and electric bonds and a University of Missouri health facilities bond.
