The Hill Air Force Base pilot who ejected before his F-16 fighter jet crashed in Iraq on Wednesday will not be identified

The pilot ejected from the single-seat aircraft about 9:30 p.m. south of Bagdad and was rescued by a combat search and rescue team an hour later. Known only as "Captain John," he requested that his name not be revealed, a spokesman for Hill Air Force Base said.

Following his rescue, the pilot was taken to Baghdad International Airport, where he was treated for minor injuries and released in good condition.
