The YMCA of Greater Salt Lake is one of 450 YMCAs nationwide selected to receive a special $5,000 "Afterschool" grant.
Funded by JC Penney, the Salt Lake YMCA was selected from among 700 YMCAs across the country. The money will help fund enrichment programs at Rose Park, Whittier, Taylorsville, John C. Fremont, Bennion, Vista and Redwood Elementary schools. In addition, it also operates a program for children who live at Salt Lake's Road Home Shelter.
