"Our Daddy"
Niel D Shelton, 56, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away June 15, 2003 while doing what he loved most, spending time with his family.
He was born April 27, 1947 in American Fork, Utah, son of William and Bessie Downs Shelton. Married Cynthia Petersen, May 17, 1980. Attended American Fork High School, Utah State University and received his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. Niel enjoyed fishing, cooking, reading, gardening, being with his family and watching his children's football games. He was faithful in everything he did as a husband, a father, in his callings, and as a friend to all who met him. He was employed by Magpie Systems. He served in many church callings including Sunday School president, Deacon advisor, clerk and various teaching positions. He loved working with the youth.
Survived by his wife, Cyndy; sons, Jeremy and Trevor; daughters, Melissa, Angie and Alisha; mother and father, Bud and Bessie.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the South Jordan Parkway Stake, 10000 South 2700 West. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South and Friday at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, American Fork Cemetery.
