PHILADELPHIA — Tomas Perez hit a two-run double to help back another impressive outing by Brett Myers as the Philadelphia Phillies completed a doubleheader sweep of the Montreal Expos with a 4-1 victory Sunday.

Jose Mesa saved both games for the Phillies, who won 4-3 in the opener behind six strong innings from Randy Wolf and Ricky Ledee's two-run double. They swept the three-game series and have won four of five overall.

The Expos managed just eight hits in the two games and have lost six of seven. They tied a season low with three hits in the opener.

Myers (5-4) worked six innings, allowing one run on five hits and lowering his ERA to 2.76. He walked one and struck out three.

Terry Adams pitched two perfect innings, and Mesa got three outs for his 15th save in 17 chances.

Dan Smith (2-2) took the loss.

In the first game, Wolf (6-3) yielded two hits over six strong innings to win for the first time since May 10. He also hit a double and a single.

GIANTS 4, ROCKIES 0: At San Francisco, Barry Bonds hit a two-run double, and Kirk Rueter pitched into the eighth inning as the San Francisco Giants won their fifth straight, beating the Colorado Rockies.

Rueter (6-1) extended his exceptional start to the season with another efficient performance, allowing seven hits in 7 1/3 innings.

ASTROS 9, CUBS 3: At Chicago, Lance Berkman and Morgan Ensberg homered as the Houston Astros kept Kerry Wood winless since April by beating the Chicago Cubs.

Coming off a 1-0 loss in 16 innings Saturday, the Astros broke a 23-inning scoreless drought with four runs in the fourth. Wood (4-4) failed for a sixth straight start to get his fifth win this season and the 50th of his career.

DIAMONDBACKS 10, PADRES 4: At San Diego, Luis Gonzalez homered and drove in four runs for the second straight game, and Edgar Gonzalez won his major league debut as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the San Diego Padres.

Edgar Gonzalez (1-0), the youngest player in the majors at 20 years old, allowed three runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings. He was called up from Triple-A Tucson earlier in the day.
