EAGLE MOUNTAIN — Pony Express Days, June 7-14
On Saturday, 10K, 5K, and 1K runs start from Nolan Park in the Red Hawk Ranch area of The Ranches. The annual Pony Express trail field trip leaves from the Pony Express Memorial Park in the town center at 7 a.m., led by Eldon Fletcher. Call 789-3123 for information.
Tuesday, June 10, the baby contest will be held at the Pony Express Elementary School from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Call 789-2905 for information. Registration is $8.
Friday, June 13, the Sue Jefferies Band will play at Fitzgerald Park near the fire station in the town center at 7 p.m. with Western dance and instruction from 8to 10 p.m.
Saturday, June 14, the parade will start in The Ranches at 9 a.m. from the LDS Church Stake Center on Pony Express Parkway. Call LeeAnn Bohman at 789-3015 for entry information. Children are urged to participate. Following the parade, a boutique, family carnival, dutch-oven cook-off and entertainment are scheduled at the elementary school. At 7:30 p.m., Peter Breinholt and the Big Parade will perform a free concert at the school, followed by fireworks.
SPRINGVILLE — Art City Days, June 7-14
The Little Buckaroo Rodeo costs $3 a ticket and starts at 5 p.m. Saturday at the horse arena, one-half mile west of the T-Bone restaurant on Airport Road.
The Nestle 5K Road Race starts at 7:30 a.m. from the Springville High School, 1205 E. 900 South. Sign-up at 6:30 a.m.
A baby contest will take place at Art City Elementary, 121 N. 900 East, at 10 a.m.
A free concert featuring "Fiddlesticks" is scheduled at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Art Museum, 126 E. 400 South.
A Teddy Bear Picnic for children up to 5 years of age is planned June 9 at 10 a.m. and at 11 a.m. Free tickets are available from the library at 50 S. Main.
The carnival on the Civic Center north lawn, 50 S. Main, opens June 11-14, closing nightly at 10 p.m.
Hot-air balloons will launch from Springville Junior High, 165 S. 700 East, at 6:30 a.m. June 12-14.
The volunteer Firemen's Breakfast is served from 6 to 10 a.m., June 12-14 at the fire station, 45 S. Main. Also, A dance for teenagers is scheduled from 7 to 11 p.m. at Spring Acres Arts Park, 620 S. 1350 East.
The Children's Parade start at 10 a.m. at Grant School, 105 S. 400 East, on Friday, June 13. A Firemen's Hamburger Fry goes from 4 until 8 p.m. at the fire station, 45 S. Main. Senior citizens will share a pot luck dinner at 5 p.m. at the Senior Citizens Center, 50 E. 200 South. A concert featuring "Legends of Rock 'n' Soul" starts at 8 p.m. at the Spring Acres Art Park, 620 W. 1350 East. Gates open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children.
Saturday, June 14, the Grand Parade starts at 10 a.m. on 400 South and Main streets, followed by a city band concert at 8 p.m. and a magic show at 9 p.m. at the Spring Acres Arts Park, 620 W. 1350 East. Fireworks start at 10 p.m. north of Springville High School, 1205 E. 900 South.
