GUNNISON, UTAH- <! > Mary Fjeldsted Hermansen, 90, of Gunnison, Utah, passed away June 19, 2003, in Gunnison.
She was born October 28, 1912, in Centerfield, Utah, to Richard and Amanda Jensen Fjeldsted. She was the second oldest of seven children. She married Ray L. Hermansen, September 11, 1935, in Provo, Utah. He preceded her in death on February 3, 1984.
Ray and Mary settled in Gunnison where they raised their three children. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in numerous ward callings. The greatest joy of her life was her family. She set a great example of faith, strength, courage and charity. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her children, Redge (Karalyn) Hermansen, Gunnison; Faye (Julian) Anderson, St. George; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Dale Westphal, Placerville, CA.
Preceded in death by parents; husband Ray; son, Gayle; brothers: Bruce and Rae; sisters: Naomi, Eula, Onda.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 23, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. in the Gunnison Stake Center, where friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Gunnison Cemetery.
