Concerning the Salt Lake County sheriff's current campaign to protect the safety of pedestrians, it would be nice if the municipal codes throughout the county were uniform concerning pedestrians and motorists in the crosswalks. In some municipalities the motorist can pass through the crosswalk if the pedestrian is in the crosswalk but on the other half of the roadway. In other municipalities the motorist must stop for the pedestrian as soon as he steps off the curb into the crosswalk regardless of which side of the roadway he is on. Let's be uniform throughout the county and remove the confusion that exists.
