Crews were searching Monday for the body of a 5-year-old boy who is presumed drowned in the Colorado River near Moab, Utah.

Andrew York, of Orem, fell into the river at 1:12 p.m. Sunday while playing, said Doug Squire, Grand County sheriff's chief deputy. He and his family were at a campground near Big Bend rapids on the river when Andrew fell into the quickly moving water.

Rescue crews were searching the river banks for any sign of Andrew's body or the swimming suit he wore.

"This time we're trying to make a (body) recovery," Squire said. "There's little to no hope that we're doing anything other than that."

Water levels were at a normal flow rate for this time of year and dropping daily, but the water was too swift for divers, Squire said. The river had poor visibility, and the riverbed was too rocky to drag for the body, he said.
