Denver-based Qwest Communications International Inc. said Wednesday it has signed up 1 million customer lines for long-distance service in 12 states.
The company received approval from the Federal Communications Commission in late December to offer the service in Utah and several other states. It now offers it in 12 states in its 14-state local-service region. It expects to hear from the FCC on its filing in Minnesota this week and will file for FCC approval in Arizona within the next few months, the company said.
