4/10/15 ~ 5/31/03

Mary Alice Peterson Crane, age 88, rejoined her husband of 61 years May 31, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born April 10, 1915 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Charles Joseph and Mary Alice Lemmon Peterson. She graduated from Granite High School and LDS Business College. She held an executive position at Petty Ford, and was a pioneer for women of that day. She fell head over heels, quite literally, and married the love of her life, John LeRoy Crane, July 11, 1941 in Manti, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She served in many ward callings throughout her life and was active for many years in the Disabled American Veterans Women's Auxiliary, Salt Lake Council of Women, Women's Auxiliary Utah Motor Transport Association, and the Rambling Rose Garden Club. In her youth she loved to dance and sing.

She is survived by her children Carolee (Boyd) Seal, John L. Crane, Jr. (Jane Groesbeck) and Aliceann Crane Whiteley, and her dear sister Afton (Lisle) Eddington and seven grandchildren, Shane Summerhays (Camille Townsend with soon to be great-grandson), Steven Seal, David Seal, Ashle Crane, Roy Crane, Chase Crane, and Kyle Whiteley.

Preceded in death by husband Roy and seven brothers and sisters Charles Joseph, Maud, Walt, Erma, Eldon, Vera, and Willard.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 5th at 2:00 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S. Highland Dr. Friends may call Wednesday, June 4th from 6:30-7:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the U of U College of Nursing or a charity of choice. The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers and staff at Silverado.
