Clyde Ervin Mortensen, age 93, passed away May 27, 2003, of natural causes.

He was born to George Q. and Carrie Mortensen on Oct. 1, 1909, in Emery, Utah. He married his hometown sweetheart, Jenel Hansen, July 17, 1929, in the Manti Temple. She passed away and Clyde later married Stella McKenney who also preceded him in death.

Clyde served the Emery community as a farmer and cattleman and he worked in the coal mine. He served on the Emery Canal Board for 50 years and served as the Water Master for many years.

Clyde was a member of the LDS Church, he loved working with the youth in Mutual and the Sunday School programs. He took great pride being a Home Teacher and a High Priest. He loved the outdoors, especially his cabins in Nine Mile Canyon along with his family.

Survived by his two daughters, Geraldine (Morris) Lewis and Beth (Fred) Delliskave, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives Jenel and Stella and a daughter Belva Jean.

The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff at Emery County Nursing Rehab Center for the care extended to Clyde.

Graveside services will be Tuesday, June 3, 2003, at the Emery City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of Fausett Mortuary.
