Skyline High student Oliver Yeh is among 12 seniors in the country to be named national Toyota Community Scholars — an honor that comes with a $20,000 scholarship.

Nearly 10,000 seniors were nominated for the award, which honors students who show leadership in their schools and communities. In all, 100 students were honored; 88 of them as regional winners receiving $10,000 scholarships.

Yeh was noted for volunteer projects and a fund-raiser that netted more than $50,000 in cash and donated medical services to treat children with facial deformities in more than 20 countries.
