Debra S. Daniels has been named director of the University of Utah's Women's Resource Center, succeeding Kathryn Brooks, who retires July 11 after 14 years in that position.

A licensed clinical social worker and the current executive director of client services at the Salt Lake City Rape Recovery Center, Daniels has addressed women's and diversity issues over 20 years of social work employment. She earned a master's degree in social work from the U. in 1984, taught in the Graduate School of Social Work and has participate in workshops on diversity. She was residence director, assistant executive director and director of prevention services for the YWCA and has received awards for her contributions to women's and human rights.
