Betty Ruth Westover Hancock passed away June 1, 2003 in Salt Lake City following a long illness.

Born February 13, 1924 in Provo, Utah, daughter of Albert O. and Caroline Nelson Westover. As a child, Betty moved with her family to San Diego where they lived and raised their family in the San Diego 5th and 11th Wards. She met and married Orville C. Hancock and they raised their six children in San Diego.

Betty was active in the LDS Church, having held many callings in all of the church organizations. She loved to be with her family and extended family and especially enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren. She worked at and managed the LDS Beehive Clothing Center for 15 years. A few years ago, Betty and Orville moved to Arizona to be near two of their sons, and then to Salt Lake to be near their daughter, Nancy.

Betty is survived by her husband, Orville; her children: James L. (Nan) Hancock, Idaho Falls, ID; Nancy R. (Phill) Quinney, West Jordan, UT; Beverly (Rick) Halsey, Lake Almanore, CA; Carolyn (Randy) Bidinger, San Diego, CA; Gary W. (Linda) Hancock, and Donald C. (Melody) Hancock, both of Gilbert, AZ; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan (John) Zetterquist of San Diego, and Carole (Jeff) Call of Costa Mesa, CA. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Wegener; brother, Richard Westover, as well as her parents.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 6th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Oquirrh 9th Ward Chapel, 6567 South Wakefield Way (6035 West) in West Jordan, where friends may call Friday, 12:30-1:45 p.m. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California. Arrangements under the direction of Warenski Funeral Home, American Fork, Utah.
