I am a drama student at the University of Utah. Last week, on May 28, some fellow actors and I participated in a reading for the Saving the Legacy Foundation. Saving the Legacy interviews World War II veterans and records their stories for future generations. They perform an important and worthwhile service. There were six stories read by various actors for this fund-raiser.
The reason I am writing is that while every member of the state Legislature received an invitation to this fund-raiser, not a single member of our legislative body showed up. The foundation didn't even receive a phone call. The only people who showed up were the veterans and their families.
I'm disgusted.
