PROVO — Novell has appointed Ronald W. Hovsepian as president of North American operations.

Hovsepian will be responsible for Novell's North American business units and will be a member of the company's worldwide management committee. He assumes the position held by H. Carvel Moore, who left the company.

A resident of Holliston, Mass., Hovsepian, 42, has 20 years' experience in the tech sector, including more than 17 years at IBM Corp. Most recently, he was managing an investment team overseeing the top 30 investments for the Internet Capital Group.
