1913~2003

My precious sister, Tessie Takis Dokos passed away Monday, June 2, 2003 in Salt Lake City at her home.

Born in Salt Lake City June 20, 1913 to Andrew Emanuel Takis and Maria Marsellas Takis. She married her beloved William G. Dokos, September 2, 1934. He preceded her in death July 8, 1979.

Tessie worked as a legal secretary for eight years and as Assistant Claim Auditor for Mutual of Omaha for 18 years. She was a Charter Member of the Salt Lake Jaycee Auxiliary and Salt Lake Life Underwriters Association Auxiliary. Tessie was also a member of Symphony Guild, Bonneville Knife & Fork Club, Lybia Temple #32 Daughters of the Nile, Pioneer Memorial Theatre Guild, Gyretle Salt Lake Gyro Club and the Hellenic Women's Club. She worked as a volunteer at the Shriner's Hospital for many years.

Tessie is survived by her sister, Mrs. C.O. (Diana) Drake; three nephews, Col. Dennis Drake, John Pitchess and Andrew Pitchess; and two nieces, Mrs. Andrea Takis Coleness and Stephanie Takis. Preceded in death by her brother, Andy Takis, Jr. and her sister, Athena Takis Pitchess.

Services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Trinity Church, 300 S. 300 W. Friends may visit at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple, Friday evening from 6 to 7:30, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Graveside services to be conducted by Lybia Temple #32 Daughters of the Nile. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Shriner's Hospital for crippled children, the Holy Trinity Church, or a charity of their choice.
