- Our beloved husband, father, and brother, Jerald Lee Barton, completed his mission on earth June 2, 2003, surrounded by his

family.

He was born November 27, 1923, in Ferron to Owen H. and Emma Z. Barton. He was married and sealed to his sweetheart, Mary Karen Sitterud in the Manti Temple on January 23, 1947. They enjoyed 56 wonderful years together and their union was blessed With three sons whom they taught to work, love, and share their talents with others.

Jerald worked hard as a farmer and dairyman, yet found time for traveling, and serving a mission with his wife. He filled many church callings, made many friends and supported his family in their endeavors. He loved fishing with his family, shopping for a deal, any kind of food and a good laugh. He lived by the motto "If a little is good, a lot is better."

He was an active member of the LDS church. He loved to read the Book of Mormon and doing missionary work. He served in many church callings and especially enjoyed his service as Stake Mission President and Temple Worker.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons Steven J. (Joy) Elmo, Roger O. (Shelley) Ferron, Brent L. (Ilene) Alpine; 12 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, sister Una Jensen, Castle Dale and brothers, Dean (Arlene) Draper, and Kent (Pat) Visalia, CA. Proceed in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and an infant granddaughter.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 06, 2003 at the Ferron Stake Center, 555 S. 400 W. A viewing will be held Thursday, June 05, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale and one hour prior to the service at the church.
