Hattie Ruth Huber Walsh, 88, died June 1, 2003 at her home.
She was born November 4, 1914 to John Martin and Elisabeth Gertsch Huber. She attended schools in Midway, Utah and graduated from Wasatch High School in Heber City. She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked at the Salt Lake Hardware Company. Hattie served as a missionary in the Southern States Mission. She married Reed Harmer Walsh on October 5, 1942, in the Salt Lake Temple. She has resided in Bountiful since 1956. Hattie's life has been family and gospel centered and service oriented. She has filled various instructional and leadership positions in Church organizations including Sunday School, Primary, and Relief Society. As a full-time homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, she has given generous and willing service and support to her husband, her four children, her 14 grandchildren, seven great-grand-children, her extended family, her friends and neighbors, and others who may have been in need.
Hattie was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Martin, Alma, John, and James and her sisters, Clara, Eva, Marguerite, Matilda, and Edith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Reed, in July of 1998.
She is survived by her children, Reed (Catherine), Mentor, Ohio; Linda, of Layton, Utah; David (Jane) of Farmington, Utah; and James (LaRee) of Peoria, Arizona; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vera Carlson of Heber City. She also survived by cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bountiful 9th Ward Chapel, 585 East Center Street, Bountiful. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Saturday from 11:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. Interment-Farmington City Cemetery.
