Following the successful completion of the I-15 rebuild, key members of Team I-15 have been in high demand.

Many have left for different and often greener pastures.

Then-UDOT executive director Tom Warne left the department to become a consultant, focused on administrative and leadership training.

David Downs, the then-I-15 project director, was hired away as a consultant to Denver's I-25 rebuild project before I-15 was finished.

John Bourne, who followed Downs as director, is now working for a national engineering firm.

Dal Hawkes, deputy director of the I-15 project under Bourne, became a regional department director for UDOT.

And Njord went from UDOT deputy director to executive director between the start and finish of I-15.

The principal rebuilders of I-15 — Kiewit Construction Co., Granite Construction Co. and Washington Construction Co., which made up the larger umbrella group, Wasatch Contractors — have also had little trouble finding additional work. Kiewit is currently part of a new consortium of companies rebuilding I-25 in Denver.
