COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Garrett Atkins hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the Colorado Springs Sky Sox a 4-3 win over the Salt Lake Stingers in Pacific Coast League play Saturday night.

The Stingers (45-51) had tied the game in the seventh when Gary Johnson singled and stole second, then came home on Alfredo Amezaga's RBI single. Chris Gissell (4-1) got the win while Brad Clontz got his 21st save for Colorado Springs (48-49).

The Stingers scored two in the first on a single by Julio Ramirez and doubles from Adams Riggs and Barry Wesson. Then the Sky Sox tied it in the bottom of the inning when Clint Barmes singled and came in on Armando Romero's double. Romero then scored on an error.
