MAGNA — Investigators are determining the cause of a fire at a house near 3200 South and 7300 West Sunday morning.

The owners were apparently out of town when the blaze started. The fire may have started in the two-story garage, then spread to the two-story house about 6:30 a.m. Sunday, Salt Lake County Fire Capt. Jay Ziolkowski said.

Firefighters entered the house and pushed the fire back into the attached garage, where it was extinguished. Estimated damage is $75,000. The garage probably is a loss. Most of the fire and smoke damage inside the house is on the second floor, Ziolkowski said.
