1924 ~ 2003
Dorothy V. Pehrson passed peacefully from this life July 19, 2003 from complications incident to diabetes.
She was born March 7, 1924 in Salt Lake City, UT to Jacoba J. Haverkamp and Cornelius G. Vanderlinden. She married Darrell F. Pehrson Sept 2, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a faithful member of the LDS Church where she served in many different callings and especially enjoyed her service in the Mutual program. She worked for Garden Gate Candies for many years and enjoyed working with her brother's family each holiday season.
Dorothy was a wonderful cook, a beautiful seamstress and enjoyed working on many different crafts. She loved to be on the go and especially enjoyed family vacations to Bear Lake, Lake Powell, Hawaii and California.
Dorothy was the life of the party. She loved flowers, family parties, games and her longtime friends, the "Grinny Minnies." She always had a very positive attitude and a great sense of humor. During her most difficult trials, she maintained her cheerful disposition.
Dorothy is survived by her husband of 60 years, Darrell F. Pehrson; sons, Darrell L. (Cindy), Alan J. (Kathryn), Gary C. (Sherrie), son-in-law, Delmas L. Anderson; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Marie V. Crowther; and brother, Cornelius Van-derlinden (Helen). Preceded by parents, daughters, Marsha, Sandra, and brothers, Henry, Grant, Arthur.
Viewing will be Mon. July 21, 2003, 6-8 p.m. Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 S. 900 E, Murray, UT. Funeral will be Tues. July 22, 2003, 11 a.m. Murray 21st Ward Chapel, 41 W. 6280 S, Murray, UT, with a viewing 10-10:45 a.m. Interment Memorial Estates Mountain View, 3115 E. 7800 S (Bengal Blvd), Cottonwood Heights.
