OGDEN -- The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the landing of a Cessna 180 in which part of the plane's gear collapsed at Ogden-Hinckley Airport Sunday night.

The plane had just touched the runway about 7:30 p.m. when the aircraft, for an unknown reason, drifted to the side of the pavement. One of the wheels rolled onto soft ground, which caused part of the landing gear to buckle and collapse, Ogden Police Lt. David Tarran said.

"One wing was sitting kind of lower than normal," Tarran said.

The unidentified married couple inside the plane was uninjured, Tarran said.
