PRESTON, Idaho — Salt Lake attorney Kim Wilson of the Mormon Historic Sites Foundation addresses hundreds gathered for groundbreaking ceremonies July 28 at Benson Park, where the historic Oneida Stake Academy building will be relocated and renovated. The LDS school, built in the late 1800s, was scheduled to be demolished earlier this summer to make room for the expansion of the adjacent Preston High School. Instead, a group of local residents and people interested in historic buildings owned by the Church, including Friends of the Academy, raised funds to move the building three blocks.
