PENSACOLA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Rescuers pulled two bodies out of the roiling Gulf of Mexico here Sunday, bringing the death toll in the rough surf to three for the holiday weekend.
Escambia County sheriff's spokesman Greg Pearson said rescue workers pulled the body of Linh Duy Nguyen, 30, from the Gulf on Sunday. His hometown was unknown, Pearson said.
Earlier that day, authorities found the body of an unidentified man in his 30s who witnesses said disappeared in the rough surf Saturday, Pearson said.
On Saturday, 32-year-old Anthony Lee Pittman, of Duluth, Ga., drowned several hundred yards west of where he entered the water's 5-foot swells.
