U.S. instigated the war

Reading the Deseret Morning News editorial on Sept. 5, "Iraq burden should be shared," I was reminded of what actually took place in the United Nations before the U.S. government declared war on Iraq.

The facts are documented. It was the U.S. government, not the U.N., that so blatantly and forcefully declared war on Iraq. It was the U.S. government that so arrogantly told the rest of the world that we would win the war without their support. It goes without exception that very few countries wanted this war; it was a war that President Bush fought for and got. And it's time to get us out of it. Did George W. really believe that another country would just welcome an invading force with open arms and allow it free reign to do as it pleases?
