1920 ~ 2003
Norma Stephenson Garret, 83 of Springville, passed away Sept. 9, 2003 of causes incident to age.
She was born January 1, 1920 in Provo, Utah to William Warner and Lua Linton Stephenson. She married Alma Lamar Garrett November 8, 1941 in the Manti Temple.
Norma grew up in Nephi where she graduated from high school and played on the first tennis team. After graduating from Stephens Henager Business School, she was employed at First Security Bank in Nephi while Alma served his country overseas. After moving to Springville she worked at BYU as an administrative assistant until her retirement in1981, she remained an avid BYU fan.
She held many positions in the church and temple, with her fondest being primary chorister. She particularly enjoyed meeting and working with the young people. She and her husband served a mission in London England where they served as assistants to the President. Her greatest pride was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Norma is survived by her husband Alma of Springville and children: Stephen Garrett of Provo; Susan (Roger) Crossley of Pleasant Grove; Janice (Rex) Dunkley of Spanish Fork; Julie Evans of St. George; and LuAnn (Mike) Warner of Payson; she had 25 grandchildren and 47 great-grand children. She is also survived by two brothers, Robert and Kenneth Stephenson and one sister, Carrol Gerrard. Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Maurine Winter.

Funeral services will be Friday, Sept. 12, 2003 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 860 East 200 North in Springville. A viewing will be held Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville and at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment, Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
